The concept of flowing electrolytes in flow batteries can complement the function of solar cells and metal– air cells. Solar rechargeable flow batteries show great promise by converting solar energy and storing photo generated clean energy in external reservoirs, which is considered the most effective way to realize future EES systems.
Aqueous flow batteries can provide a rapid response time and good flowability of the catholytes and anolytes with minimum pump loss, thus facilitating the storage of the generated energy.
