China unveils the world’s first military-grade mobile 5G base station, developed by China Mobile Communications Group and the PLA, designed for battlefield use to enable seamless communication for up to 10,000 military robots and drones within a 3-kilometer radius.
The customized 5G lightweight core network can quickly build an emergency communication system at the communication site to cover the entire disaster area, thereby ensuring on-site communication scheduling and helping the affected people communicate with the outside world.
Emergency communication is difficult to be arranged and resume quickly, which severely hinders disaster rescue operations. Based on the above disaster scenarios, we used UAV to carry 5G portable base station devices and construct a temporary 5G high-altitude emergency base station.
Along with the rapid development of UAV, it could loiters longer and carry heavier payload, which may become the possible solution of emergency communication method using 5G. But the standardization of 5G UAV network remain uncertain in the upcoming specifications.
