These devices provide substantial power to overcome the initial resistance during the startup of solar pumps and ensure reliable power output when operating with grid-connected photovoltaic inverters.
Abeywardana et al. implemented a standalone supercapacitor energy storage system for a solar panel and wireless sensor network (WSN) . Two parallel supercapacitor banks, one for discharging and one for charging, ensure a steady power supply to the sensor network by smoothing out fluctuations from the solar panel.
Despite these challenges, supercapacitors offer significant advantages over traditional energy storage technologies and have the potential to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient energy future.
