Supercapacitors have been introduced as replacements for battery energy storage in PV systems to overcome the limitations associated with batteries [79, , , , , ].
By simply integrating commercial silicon PV panels with supercapacitors in a load circuit, solar energy can be effectively harvested by the supercapacitor. However, in small-scale grid systems, overcharging can become a significant concern even when using assembled supercapacitor blocks.
