In this study, the comprehensive environmental impacts of the lithium iron phosphate battery system for energy storage were evaluated. The contributions of manufacture and installation and disposal and recycling stages were analyzed, and the uncertainty and sensitivity of the overall system were explored.
Recovered lithium iron phosphate batteries can be reused. Using advanced technology and techniques, the batteries are disassembled and separated, and valuable materials such as lithium, iron and phosphorus are extracted from them.
